Bi-Level Phase Load Balancing Methodology with Clustering-Based Consumers’ Selection Criterion for Switching Device Placement in Low Voltage Distribution Networks

چکیده

In the last years, distribution network operators (DNOs) assumed transition strategies of electric networks (EDNs) towards active areas microgrids where, regardless operating regimes, flexibility, economic efficiency, low power losses, and high quality are ensured. Artificial intelligence techniques, combined with smart devices real-time remote communication solutions enormous data amounts, can represent starting point in establishing decision-making to solve one most important challenges related phase load balancing (PLB). this context, purpose paper is prove that a strategy based on limited number PLB installed at consumers (small implementation degree) leads similar technical benefits as case full EDNs. Thus, an original bi-level methodology, considering clustering-based selection criterion for placement switching devices, was proposed. A real EDN from rural area belonging Romanian DNO has been considered testing proposed methodology. An degree by 17.5% represented optimal solution, leading faster computational time 43% reducing operations 92%, compared (100%). The performance indicators unbalance factor energy-saving highlighted efficiency

Clustering Based Load Flow for Three Phase Unbalanced Distribution System with Voltage Sensitive Component Models

This paper presents a novel distribution power flow algorithm to estimate losses and analyze unbalanced distribution systems. An unbalanced distribution network is decomposed into clusters. The unbalanced laterals are solved using the backward/forward sweep method in each phase. The clustering of total network makes faster computation. The three phase modeling of all the distribution transforme...

A Bi-Level Optimization Approach for Optimal Operation of Distribution Networks with Retailers and Micro-grids

Distributed energy resources (DERs) including distributed generators (DGs) and controllable loads (CLs) are managed in the form of several microgrids (MGs) in active distributions networks (ADNs) to meet the demand locally. On the other hand, some loads of distribution networks (DNs) can be supplied by retailers which participate in wholesale energy markets. Therefore, there are several decisio...

Multihop Clustering Algorithm for Load Balancing in Wireless Sensor Networks

The paper presents a new cluster based routing algorithm that exploits the redundancy properties of the sensor networks in order to address the traditional problem of load balancing and energy efficiency in the WSNs.The algorithm makes use of the nodes in a sensor network of which area coverage is covered by the neighbours of the nodes and mark them as temporary cluster heads. The algorithm the...
